How Much Should I Put Down?

Down payment requirements vary by mortgage product. A down payment of less than 20% - 25% of the loan amount may require private mortgage insurance (PMI) which protects the lender against potential financial loss if the borrower defaults on the loan.

Buying a Home with a Low or No Down Payment

U.S. Bank offers both minimal and zero down payment mortgage options. For information on these options and help determining which is best for you, talk with a U.S. Bank Loan Officer.
