Gold Checking Package

The Gold Package starts with a checking account that comes bundled with added benefits. It’s a great choice if you have growing financial needs and want a complete package that offers superior value.

The Gold Package gives you these valuable extras: Plus these discounts and fee waivers:
  • Add an Easy Checking account with no monthly maintenance fee5
  • No fees on the first overdraft in any 12-month period6

When you apply for a Gold Checking account, you’ll be asked to open a Package Money Market Savings account or a U.S. Bank Credit Card account at the same time.7

Already have a U.S. Bank Credit Card or Savings account? If so, it’s easy to make your existing account part of your Gold Package during the application process.

Applying online takes as little as five minutes and is completely secure. 

To open a Gold Checking account online, you need:

  • a minimum opening deposit of $50
  • to be at least 18 years old and a legal U.S. resident
  • a Social Security Number
  • a driver’s license or state/military ID

If you’re missing any of these items, please apply in person at a branch location.

You have the option of opening a new Package Money Market Saving account or U.S. Bank Credit Card, or converting an existing U.S. Bank Savings account to meet Gold Package requirements. Once approved, you’ll be asked to submit your opening deposit(s) to activate your account(s).

Average Account Balance for Silver or Gold Checking is determined by adding the balance at the end of each calendar day during the statement period, up until and not including the last two business days fo the statement period, and dividing that sum by the number of days used. Business days are Monday through Friday; federal holidays are not included.
